When a riding squad fits the workfront
A riding squad is a technical team deployed aboard a vessel for an agreed work package. Marine riding crews support maintenance, repair or installation work where the scope sits on the vessel, rather than in a shore-based workshop. Deployment and permitted activities depend on the vessel programme and agreed onboard responsibilities.

RAM carried out mechanical work, maintenance, welding, insulation, metal fitting and painting aboard Allseas Solitaire in the Netherlands. The team worked on a rotational basis with accommodation aboard. This assignment demonstrates RAM’s experience with a range of onboard technical tasks, from mechanical maintenance to welding and surface finishing.

RAM deployed a 40-person technical team during the construction of Icon of the Seas, carrying out mechanical and interior outfitting works including bathrooms, sanitary areas, stair assemblies and associated interior installation works. The team worked for three months at Meyer Turku in Finland and continued for four weeks in Cádiz during the vessel’s sea-trial phase.

- No. A riding squad carries out a defined technical maintenance, repair or installation assignment aboard a vessel. River crewing supplies personnel for inland cargo vessel operations, including boatmasters, helmsmen, deck crew, mechanics and electricians. For long-term crew assignments, rotation relief or temporary operational cover, choose River crewing in the enquiry form.
