Marine & Shipbuilding: Technical Teams for Newbuild, Conversion and Repair

Technical trades and complete crews for shipyards, vessel owners and marine contractors across Europe — newbuild, conversion, repair, dry dock and on board. You direct the work, or we take on a defined scope.

Where the work happens

Marine projects run against narrow operational windows — a docking slot, a delivery date, a sailing schedule. The question is whether the right trade is on the work front while the window is open.
01

Newbuild and yard fabrication

Hull sections, structural assemblies and piping fabricated and erected in the yard and in the workshops that supply it. RAM works inside a yard’s own organisation or as a contracted newbuild and ship repair scope.
  • Hull sections
  • Structural assemblies
  • Piping
  • Block programme
02

Conversion, repair and refurbishment

Vessels already in service: steel and piping renewal, mechanical and electrical work, outfitting and interior scopes — often several at once, competing for the same access.
  • Steel renewal
  • Piping renewal
  • Mechanical & electrical
  • Outfitting
03

Dry dock and onboard

Docking periods fixed in advance: hull and plate work, blasting and coating, piping renewal before float-out. Alongside and in service we work through riding squads; offshore units and installations are covered separately.
  • Hull & plate work
  • Blasting & coating
  • Piping renewal
  • Riding squads
What RAM supplies into these environments is set out below.

Two ways we work in Marine & Shipbuilding

Model 01

Workforce Solutions

Your yard. Your supervision. Our trades.
Welders, pipefitters, fitters, electricians and complete crews integrated into your own organisation. RAM handles employment, documentation, mobilisation and workforce administration.

Technical Subcontracting

A defined scope. A RAM-managed team.
A package of work rather than additional trades — a fabrication package, a steel or piping renewal area, a defined outfitting or refurbishment scope.

Welding and piping: procedure, qualification and documentation

136
FCAW · Flux-cored MAG
RAM supplies coded welders across 111 (MMA / manual metal arc), 141 (TIG) and 136 (flux-cored MAG), selected against the actual welding scope — process, position, material and the access the work front allows.
  1. Project requirementsWhat the project asks the work to satisfy and document.
  2. WPS · WPQRHow the weld is to be made, and the qualification basis for that procedure.
  3. Welder qualificationThe individual qualification range for the processes and variables concerned.
  4. ExecutionPersonnel selected against those documents, then working the scope.
Personnel are selected against the welding procedures, qualification requirements and project documentation made available for the assignment.

Before we mobilise

01

Understand the work

Vessel, project phase, disciplines and access on board. Headcount is the output of that conversation, not the opening question.
02

Match capability to the task

Process, position, material, system and previous working environment decide who is right for the scope.
03

Check qualifications and documentation

Qualifications, certificates and project-specific documentation checked against what the project, the yard or the vessel asks for.
04

Agree responsibility

Scope, supervision, interfaces and deliverables settled before anyone travels.
