Workshop fabrication and assembly
RAM’s published capability includes spool fabrication and piping assembly for marine and process-industry work. Workshop output feeds the installation programme, so the required disciplines and documentation need to match the scope that follows.
Installation, tie-ins and modification
Pipefitters support installation and modification of process and utility systems on plant, terminals and offshore assets. Tie-in work and installation areas should be defined around the available access, sequence and division of responsibilities.
Marine piping renewal
Ship repair and dry-dock work can involve piping renewal alongside other trades working within the same access window. RAM’s marine capability covers piping fabrication, installation, repair and modification in workshops and onboard environments.

Interfaces and documentation
Make the work front clear before mobilisation.
A useful piping brief identifies the system, location, drawings, installation or repair scope, required disciplines and programme. For a shutdown or dry dock, include the access window and the work that must be completed within it.
Where the package includes welding, the process, material and applicable qualification range must be identified separately from the pipefitting requirement. See welding and fabrication for RAM’s published processes and the distinction between WPS, WPQR and individual welder qualification.
Define who supplies materials, directs the sequence and accepts the completed work. Tell us whether inspection, testing or commissioning is part of the requested package; those responsibilities should not be assumed from a request for pipefitters.
Personnel and project-specific documentation are checked against the requirements made available for the assignment. Site access, HSE requirements and supervision form part of the mobilisation discussion.

Technical subcontracting
